I've become increasingly disturbed by the observations I make while driving to and from the natural places that I love to photograph. Huge earth moving machines clear the land for new strip-malls and housing projects. Excavating machines move mountains, and crews use explosives to blast away rock to construct new highways. The aftermath of these activities has become of interest, and I've begun to photograph a different type of landscape.
I approach each of these man-made scenes from the same perspective I would use to photograph a mountain, canyon or other natural occurrence. I photographically examine these man-made incursions/structures in an effort to capture the beauty of their textures and shape.
